Welcome to our classroom!
Click on the "Remote Learning" and "On-Line Classroom Expectations" tabs for important information during mandated school closings. ZOOM meeting codes and times are posted in Canvas. It is NOT required that you join. If you can, great! I'd love to hear from you! Know that to protect privacy, you will NOT be allowed to enable your camera. If a zoom meeting includes instruction, it will be recorded and uploaded on Canvas for you to view. Let me know if you have any questions about your assignments. Remember that this is new to me, too, so let me know if something isn't working correctly with links, etc. DO NOT STRESS! Just like when the school year began, there will be a few days of getting used to distance learning. That includes me, as well! Now, LET'S LEARN! Click HERE to view the NC Department of Public Instruction 6th Grade Math Unpacking Document. This includes all math standards that 6th grade students are expected to be able to do. Just as I'm looking forward to getting to know you, I'm sure you'd like to know a little bit about me. I earned my degree from Appalachian State University and have been teaching for over two decades, all right here in Wilkes County Public Schools. I've been privileged to teach 2nd, 4th, 5th, and AIG and have taught at Traphill, C.C. Wright, Moravian Falls, and Wilkesboro Elementary Schools, before landing here at Central Wilkes Middle where I teach 6th grade math and science. I have a wonderful husband, grown twin daughters, and the sweetest cat on the planet. During breaks from school, I enjoy gardening, crafting, baking, and shopping for great antique finds! I believe that learning, personal growth, and goal setting should be a lifelong process. I suppose that's why my personal mission statement is, "Live with the end in mind!" If I can do that, everything else should take care of itself. Happy learning! |
